Is there a free trial?

No free trial — but Solo is just €9.99 and it's yours forever. If Tau doesn't work for you, reach out within 14 days and I'll refund you, no questions asked.

Is this a subscription?

No. Tau is a one-time purchase. Pay once, own it forever — no monthly fees, no renewals.

What platforms are supported?

Windows and macOS. Linux support is not planned for v1.

Will it slow down my computer while recording?

Tau is designed to run quietly in the background with minimal CPU usage. It captures frames at intervals rather than recording full video, so the performance impact is very low even on older machines.

How does the license work?

After purchase you'll receive a license key by email. Enter it in the app on first launch to activate. You can also link your key to your trytau.app account for easy access.

What if the app doesn't work on my machine?

Reach out and I'll help you get it running. If it genuinely can't be fixed, you'll get a full refund.

Can I use it on multiple devices?

Solo allows 1 device. Pro allows up to 3 devices.

Do I get free updates?

Yes — all updates for the current major version are free.
